Iran Releases Video Director of “Controversial” Pharrell Williams- Inspired Happy Video

Iranian authorities have released the director who was arrested with six others for making their own version of Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” video.

Earlier this month, some of the dancers in the video were released, however; the director, Sassan Soleimani, remained in custody.

Soleimani who spent 9 days imprisoned, has been set free on bail according to The New York Times.

Although the video’s participants are being released, they could still face charges from the religious conservatives in control of the country’s judiciary.
