Uwajumogu Bags Imo Social Media Man Of The Year Award


The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has been bestowed with the prestigious Imo Social Media Man of the year award, a feat he remarkably achieved as an outstanding social media friendly public office holder in the state.
The award, according to the Imo Social Media organizes , was initiated to reward and encourage citizens of the state who appreciate the effectiveness and efficacy of the New Media, also known as the Social Media in information dissemination to the well-meaning citizens of the state and beyond.
The group also posited that the choice of the Imo Speaker as its man of the year was based on his quick adaptation to the modern means of communication which has been in sync with his administrative procedures in handling the affairs of the Imo State House of Assembly.
While describing the award as unique, the Network further alluded the fact that the Speaker has brought his ingenuity to bear in ensuring that The intelligent people of the State are given a sense of belonging through proper and timely update of legislative activities and programmes.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, had while receiving the award described social media as the fastest gateway to the present world's global village and advised youths of the State to embrace it.
He pointed out that prior to the advent of the social media, government activities were no longer done in the secret, while it further brings the affairs of the government at the citizen's finger tips.
He stressed benefits inherent in the use of the social media, disclosing that the Communication trend has become a more lucrative business venture as youth from around the world now take to it as a legitimate venture to better their lots.
The Speaker thanked youths of the state and other social media complaints for finding him worthy for the honour, stating that the award would spur him in his bid to deliver first-class representation to the people of the state. He dedicated the Award to God Almighty and all men of good will that believes in ''Investigative journalism'' in the state.
