The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has been conferred with the prestigious award of excellence by New Name Newspapers.
According to the publishers of the news paper, Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu, was honoured for his sterling leadership qualities, as well as, the mature way he has handle the affairs of the House so far.
The Newspaper also noted that it was inspired by the human and political pedigree of the Speaker, stressing that such feat could only be replicated by politicians in the state to guarantee a sustainable growth and development for all.
Receiving the award on behalf of the speaker, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Pharm Donatus Ozoemena, disclosed that the award was in recognition of the dogged efforts of the House in churning out people orientated laws which has translated to the massive democratic dividends being witnessed across the state.
He further stated that the award is dedicated to the Honourable members of the Assembly for their concerted efforts in moving the activities of the House forward and to the good people of the state and lovers of democracy, for their prayers and continued support
