Celeb Bash Month! Stylez, Creme and Dj Hassan Reminisce On E- Sir’s Days

esir

The year 1981 20th May saw the birth of what arguably made one of the best and most revered hip- hop artists in the 254- Issah Mmari who would later on be known as E-Sir. He was dope, young, super talented and a darling to everyone and while we lost him back in 2003 his memory still lives on.
He was a Taurus, May makes his bash month. I'm pretty sure if he were around he'd have thrown a mard party seven days ago but anyways, May ain't done and I doubt if the 254 will ever forget this star.
He was easy with peepz and while I didn't get the chance to meet him personally well, Dj Stylez, Crème de la Crème and HBR Dj Hassan shared their personal encounter with him.
Crème De La Crème
"It saddens me that I never really got the chance to know him all too well, but I met up with him in Nakuru he was hanging with Bigpin. At that time I wasn't even a Dj was a student at Kabarak University. They were both chilling at some joint went up to them and said hii. He was easy and calm. We had kidogo chat little did I know that that was the last time I'd see him coz a week later the whole of 254 woke up to his demise"
(On his music)
"His music was and still is great; 'Hamnitishi' is one of those tracks that gets me up to date. I decided to come up with something, more of a ritual every time I travel to Nakuru for a gig I make sure I stop by the scene-where it all happened and say a short prayer then take on with the journey."
Stylez
"I met up with him a couple of times mein he was something else. The first thing you'd note is his bandana, that was his signature look but the moment you engage a convo with this guy you'd realize his got so much to give he was lively and he was one heck of a story teller. He was loved by people. I remember he used to drag the whole of South C with him, he was that dope, no doubt a people's person .I'm honored to have some exclusive mixtape drops from him. My favorite E-sir joints have to be Lyrical Tongue Twister, 'Hamnitishi', and 'Jo'- these songs were ill"
Dj Hassan
"There's so much that can be said about E Sir but his confidence and humble nature never misses out when people describe his traits. Lucas of Ogopa Deejays would give me some of his tracks to play, I thought that his music was really dope and when I finally met him up at Splash where he had a gig I got to see the kind of talent this guy possessed"
(On his music)
"All his tracks were massive and took over the scenes, his songs 'Jo'& 'Lyrical Tongue Twister' were my fav jams"
