Injury stops the Tiger: Tiger Woods out of US Open

Woods conceded earlier in May that he was no closer to a return to the PGA Tour circuit, as he was yet to hit full-swing golf shots - only chipping and putting in practice.
The American, 38, is a three-time US Open winner.
"Unfortunately, I won't be there because I'm not yet physically able to play competitive golf," Woods said in a statement published on his website.
"I'd like to convey my regrets to the USGA leadership, the volunteers and the fans that I won't be at Pinehurst.
"The US Open is very important to me, and I know it's going to be a great week.
"Despite missing the first two majors, and several other important tournaments, I remain very optimistic about this year and my future."
Woods lost his number one ranking to Adam Scott last Monday, and has slipped to third in the standings after Swede Henrik Stenson passed him this week.
He has not been seen in competition since the WGC-Cadillac Championship on March 9.
