President Museveni Calling it Quits Finally?

Head of State Gives Clear Hint Yet on the Time he Will Leave Power after Holding Forte for Close to three decades, But...

After working on inside rebellion targeting his seat, President Museveni has now started on the project to shoot down propaganda claiming he is above the Constitutional requisite 75 years to run again in 2016.

Museveni has been President since 1986, a total of 28 years in power and still counting. Before, only former self styled Field Martial Idi Amin Dada had spent more years in power than any other President, who ever reigned since 1962, when Uganda attained Independence from Britain.

The Head of State spoke while he presided over this years Youth Day Celebrations that were held in Moroto on Tuesday. He was in company of his wife, First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni.

Preparing Ugandans about his candidature in 2016, President Museveni added, though he will attain 70 years of age in September 2016, there will be still a lot of energy in his body and bones to carry the countrys leadership mantle.

If President Museveni does not tinker with the Constitution, A in a bid to enlarge the time frame a President spends in State House beyond 75 years, then it means he will not be eligible to stand beyond 2021, if at all he wins in 2016.

President Museveni has in the past caused the ruling NRM controlled National Assembly to remove the clause which limited Presidential terms to only 10 years. The amendment, handed Museveni the license to acquire terms beyond the original two at the helm of power. MPs were facilitated with Shs5m each to “consult their constituents on the question of term limits.”

The Democratic Partys and Luweero Woman MP, Brenda Nabukenya, while still a member of the party’s youth wing, led the partys youths who stormed the Constitutional Square with “ Birthday Cake” which they intended to cut to mark  Musevenis 80 years.

However, Police moved in faster and arrested the Nabukenya, before they could cause the political damage by making Ugandans believe their President had actually expired to return for another round at State House.

More politicians have before and since Nabukenya dispersal from Constitutional Square, insisted that President Museveni lie about his age in order to rule Uganda endlessly.

In his literary works, President Museveni says he was born around the time the Baseveni (World War II combatants) were returning from the destructive Second World War. This perhaps explains why his parents named him before the valiant combatants.

His latest revelation, would suggest Museveni was born in 1947, which year gives the mathematics of 70 years, he says he will attain in September next year.

Before he put it in writing, age has been Musevenis top secrets. He used to claim that he could not tell his age with certainty, because his Parents were illiterates who never recorded his birth date.An illiterate is someone who cannot read or write.

When he finally worked out when he was born, Museveni revealed he was born around the time Ugandans who fought in the Second World War were returning home. Hence, the name: Museveni.
