Who will design Kim Kardashian's wedding dress? Balmain, Lanvin and Alaia all vie for the honor - but could it actually be Givenchy?

Kim Kardashian wowed in a Lanvin wedding dress on her recent Vogue cover, but which designer will the bride-to-be choose for her big day?

On a recent trip to Paris, the 33-year-old, who is set to marry Kanye West in civil ceremony this week before a lavish ceremony in France on May 24, teased fans with trips to Balmain, Azzedine Alaïa and also Lanvin.
And after landing back in Los Angeles on May 1st with a large Balmain bag in tow, she prompted further speculation that she has indeed picked the fashion house's designer Olivier Rousteing to create her fairy-tale gown.
But what will the dream dress look like? A source close to Miss Kardashian told E! News yesterday that she has already chosen a design, which she 'beyond loves'.
The reality television star enlisted the help of pal Serena Williams to nail down some final details for her big day, and the pair stayed at the luxurious hotel Le Meurice, overlooking the Tuileries Garden before visiting the famous Alaïa showroom in Le Marais, Lanvin's Alber Elbaz and then Mr Roustening at Balmain.

However, it is also likely that the contents of Miss Kardashian's Balmain shopping bag has nothing to do with the wedding at all.
She will be attending the Met Costume Gala in Manhattan for the second year in a row on Monday night, and may have simply picked up some last minute accessories for the event.

Disaster: Kim Kardashian is set to return to the Met Gala this year, one year after her much derided floral disaster at the 2013 punk-themed event

Mr Tisci has previously gifted North West with mini versions of his designs, and recently he labeled Miss Kardashian 'the Marilyn Monroe of our age,' in an interview with The Sunday Times -- not to mention cousin Kendall Jenner walked in Givenchy's Fall 2014 runway show during Paris Fashion Week.

Could it be Alaia? Miss Kardashian also visited the Azzedine Alaïastudio in Paris this week, his figure-hugging designs are worn by supermodels and actresses alike (pictured: Naomi Campbell and Diane Kruger)

However, the fact that Miss Kardashian wore Vera Wang for her last wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries, means it is possible that she has again chosen an American designer synonymous feminine and figure-flattering designs: Monique Lhuillier.
But no matter who designs Miss Kardashian's wedding gown, one thing is certain: it will no doubt be tight-fitting to highlight the star's voluptuous curves
